Savage 110 Bolt Question..

i just picked up a savage 110 in .270 for a awesome price. The gun is in awesome shape but when i was cleaning it a peice of the bolt fell out. I can't tell if it was made to float or if it should have a pin behind it to hold it in.

So i took some pictures.. sorry if they are a little fuzzy, my digi camera doesn't do too well with the up close and personal shots
all put together

the small peice removed you can see the indent which makes me think that it might have a pin behind it...

There is a little spring and a ball bearing, Midway or Numrich should be able to fix you up for a couple dollars. Stif little spring and a piece of #6 steel shot will get you by. A spring from a lighter works well.

what exactly does it do? i found a couple of blue prints of a 110 but they were pretty fuzzy.

from what i could read i thought that it might be part of the ejector

do you have links to either of those manufactures?

If you contact Savage Arms they will refer you to Gun Parts anywas as they handle any parts issue that Savage Arms has for used rifles.
