savage 11 xp trigger guard

So, as I was headed out the door this morning to shoot i literally dropped my savage 11 .223 right on my porch breaking the plastic trigger guard! :mad: Never really got why so many people complain about them until now! You literally cant find the new style like i have on this gun anywhere online. I really want a metal replacement. I was planning on adding a boyds stock anyway so i might as well order all the parts now and get a stock in the mail. Does anyone know where i could buy a replacement steel trigger guard and the proper bottom metal needed to go with the boyds stock? I could call savage and get a plastic replacement, not really an improvent however. Thanks in advance.
 
If you dropped it hard enough to break the plastic trigger guard an aluminum trigger guard would have probably broken too. At least bent enough to be unusable. I'm not as familiar with Savage, but the plastic used on Rugers 10-22's and the Remington 870 is tougher than the aluminum they replaced. There are very, very few steel trigger guards put on any rifles any more. And haven't been for a long time. I'd replace it with another plastic trigger guard and move on.
 
Have you tried Midway USA. They have a metal trigger guard however I do not know which one you have. As a side note the metal trigger gaurd is very, very strong, and they are steel.

Funny thing is it kinda just fell over. Like it was a defective part it cracked and was hanging down. There are copious amounts of steel trigger guard options online just none for the savage 111/11 xp guns. I ordered a factory replacement from savage for 20 bucks shipped. Never realized the lack of after market options for this line of rifles...should have stuck with the 700 i suppose :rolleyes: However i cant argue with the accuracy of this r ifle at MOA with 9 dollar a box ammo.
 
Now I understand, I guess because it's a new design (trigger guard) no one has started building a replacement part yet. But I'm just guessing here.
