I wanted to post some pics of my first range session with my brand new out of the box rifle. I sighted in with 165gr Federal Sierra Game King rounds and could not be happier with my first outting. I can not wait to see what this rifle will do with more time behind the trigger and reloads.

Try some 168 gr. Matchkings..

I wanted to try Match Kings, but unfortunatley I could not find any off the shelf in my area. I really wanted to try them as I have heard they tend to shoot better. My plans for this gun are for both target shooting as well as hunting. I now know it is definelty accurate enough for hunting, but I as I am sure most on this forum are, now on a quest to shoot tighter groups and ultimately longer ranges.

May have to get the Match Kings bullets and reload, but it is surely on my list of things for the near future.

Thanks

"Quest to shoot tighter groups"

Here now, quiet down a little and listen. Ya say ya gat a quest to shoot tighter groups. Okay, Okay, thats possible I guess. Best go out and invest in a real good "Dial-Caliper"Micrometer. Thats what yer gonna need ta measure them there bullet holes, durn quarter ya got there gonna cover em up til we can't see em,fer sure!....Just raggin on ye a bit, that was some good shooting. Not kidding about the micrometer. You have a nice weapon and obviously know how to use it...Congradulations..you have just done what a lot of people dream of . Not a lot of people have the weapon and the know how to shoot groups that tight or tighter. With practice you will get better!Congrads again!:)

Quest to shoot tighter groups"

Thanks Hootey. Yeah I have the calipers but unfortunately the quater was all i had at the time. I saved all of my targets and will get an accurate measurment when I get back home (work interferes with shooting). I struggled for some time as to which rifle to purchase, and for the price I paid I am very happy so far. More to follow when things tighten up.

You have a great rifle and obviously know how to use it.

Rather than mess around with calipers, I would suggest you download the free measuring tool from On Target at

http://www.ontargetshooting.com/download.html

This is how your target measures using that tool.

That gives you more bragging rights than a quarter covering your group.

Rimfire5: Thanks a ton, I have seen others post results using this system, but had no idea where it came from. I really appreciate the heads up. I have it now.

Thanks again!
