SAS-12 semi auto

Ive been thinking about purchasing this shotgun for a while now, as ive been looking for a relatively cheap semi-auto. id see it sitting there at my local dunhams all the time, but didnt know much about it, so i was always reluctant to take the plunge of around $200 which seemed like a decent price. For those of you who dont know the gun im referring to, the SAS-12 is a semi-automatic 12 ga. shotgun Made by Norinco and imported by Century Arms (i believe thats correct). It uses detachable magazines, which was one of aspects of the gun i liked, until i found out that they were only 3 rd. mags. i did find a place that sells spare mags but they are a little on the pricey side. Ive heard mixed reviews about firearms from Norinco, and this gun in particular, but ive never had personal experience with one. So im just wondering if anyone has had experience with an SAS-12 or knows anything about them! whats a good price for one? is this a reliable gun or should i stay away from it? Thanks!

The dunhams in gaylord michigan had one, 150.00 almost bought it. Until I saw a huge kink in the barrel.

I thought it was a siaga-12 because they look similar, but the gas system is under the barrel. And it is not based on the AK action, so its just something they came up with (or stole the plans for). I have a norinco pump shotgun that I got for 79.00 that has served me well, but it is also sloppy and in a semi auto that could cause you problems.

Thanks for the input about your experience with norinco , im gonna bump this up and see if i cant get any more responses :)

On another forum, a guy was saying he had to put in a stronger extractor spring to get it to function reliably.

If you don't mind supporting the People's Republic of China's Army, then buy Norinco.

That alone keeps me from anything Norinco/Communist...
