Santa Glock came today.

I finally got my Glock G32 out of layaway today. I don't feel any different....does Glock madness sort just creep up on you, or is it real sudden like? It is a pretty neat piece though, tricked out with Trijicon night sights and a Lasermax "laser". Actually.... I am starting to feel something....gotta go play with it again. See ya.

I have a question for you Glockers out there, so I thought I'd piggy back the original thread.

I see that there are a couple accessories avaiable like the oversized mag releases, and trigger enhancements like the 3.5 # connector. The mag release seems like a good idea, since the stock one is so small. The trigger, on the other hand, doesn't seem too bad. What are your experiences with these two items? Is the gain worth the cost and trouble? Are there other "new wheels" out there that significantly improve the stock Glock? Thanks for any info.

Congrats on the new pistol.

Personally, I like the slide lock lever and magazine release as-is. I'm not sure how changing either would affect the fit in a preformed kydex holster, for example.

Trigger pull. I stripped mine down and polished the parts where they might affect the pull. I used a dremel with a felt tip and jewler's rouge on slow speed and buffed a tiny bit at a time, just enough for a mirror shine. For me this was enough. Haven't tried the lighter connecter, but have heard good things about it in conjunction with a New York #1 spring (something like that).

Glock madness... yes, it came on slow for me and keeps getting stronger. Still prefer HKs, but getting... weaker... The more you shoot em and the more they are abused, the more they grow on ya.

I don't mind the releases at all but I have gone to 3.5# connectors which I like a little better for IDPA.

Come on over to Glock Talk (http://glocktalk.com/) if you get a chance.

Glock Santa came my way yesterday too (G19)------If its going to be a carry piece--I would leave the mag release alone--an accidently dropped mag at the wrong time=not good---if not to be carried--go for it.

Had the 3.5 trigger on a Glock 35----again, if carried----don't do it---its almost too light.

Had both those features on the G35----but the gun was so big it definitely wouldn't be carried. Unless you're on the SWAT Team.

I've had a week to get familiar with the pistol, and I have to agree with the advice given here. Once again, it falls in the, 'if it ain't broke..don't fix it' category. I have been lurking at Glocktalk and other Glock related sites the last few weeks. As usual, there is a ton of info to sort through. I love it!

I like Glock's 3.5 connector. I don't see a problem, as the trigger is still heavier than a "carry" 1911's four pounds or so. I disagree with those who's solution to a mediocre stock Glock trigger is to make it worse by increasing the pull. But to each his own.

I've lightly polished the appropriate internals of my G17 with a Dremel tool and a felt wheel using Simichrome - that helped a bit. (DON'T use files, stones, sandpaper, or lapping compound unless you really, REALLY know what you're doing!)
If you go slow, and don't remove enough metal to "reshape" the parts, it's hard to see how you could screw it up using this method.

I also added a Glock extended slide release. Doesn't really make much difference, and I'm thinking it may actually get in the way.

As far as other than Glock aftermarket parts are concerned...I don't have any. Many of the malfs I've heard of can be traced to non-Glock springs, recoil rods, firing pins, and trigger components.
