I was just given my grandfather's rifle, it is a 98 military mauser that was convertered by Golden State Arms Corp, Pasendena Ca. I have tore the rifle apart looking for a caliber stamp but cannot find one, I beleive it is a 30/06 but need to be sure. I have searched the internet and cannot find anything on the model 47. Can you provide any info. Thanks.

I think you are correct, it is .30-'06. It should be easy to tell, but a chamber cast would remove any doubt.
