I'm looking for info about this rifle. I'm trying to find an aftermarket stock, and would like to know experiences for owners of this gun. Thanks beforehand.-

Are you talking about the FR-8?

Santa Barbara Mausers came in both Mauser 1893 design (M1916) and Mauser 1898 design (M1942). You need to be able to tell one from the other. They were sold as sporting rifles from the mid-1950s-early 1970s. Generally, they are pretty good, but a bit rough.

I believe I owned one years ago. Isn't it a sporter version of an old military rifle where the bolt slides back throught he back of the receiver preventing anything but a forward scope mount?

I should have said is a model C.75 (Coruña 75), it was the sniper rifle of Spanish Army. Thanks.-

If it is based on the basic Kar98k action design, as the FR8 and M1943 Spanish rifles are, any K98 stock will fit. The Brazilian M1908 stock fits too - this is what my bubba'd M1943 is wearing currently - though the fore-end had to be shortened to fit the M1943's shorter barrel.
I have seen pics of a 'sniper' modified FR8 on the Gunboards FR8/CETME forum. The rear sight was ground off and it had scope bases installed with a bent bolt handle. Several of these were supposedly made up by the Spanish government, and a few apparently came over in FR8 shipments.
Both my M1943 and FR8 have bent bolt handles, but the handles would still fit a scope - the curve isn't right for scoping unless very high rings are used!
