San Fransisco silver lining?

O'Reilly hit the nail on the head

From the article in the link:

But Bill O'Reilly probably said it best recently on the Fox News Channel when he noted: "Once I saw what happened in Hurricane Katrina, I said every American household should have a firearm. If there's a tremendous earthquake in San Francisco and looting, you don't want your family protected? You don't want a firearm in your house? You're living in the world of Oz."

+1!!:D

Katrina seems to have done what nothing else has ever been able to.

Expose the myth of police protection and the effectivness of self reliance

We actually agree more than we disagree on most matters.

It distressed me a little too when I first noticed it

You being an anarchist and all;)

Btttthhht! I'm no anarchist!

Actually, the stuff I disagree most on was what you said in the thread about pit bulls. You seemed ...er... rabid in your defense of them. Heehee!

Ultimately, though, the vote didn't mean much of anything. As San Francisco's Mayor, Gavin Newsom, a strong supporter of gun control, said, the ban "clearly will be thrown out [in court]... It's really just a public opinion poll at the end of the day." State law prohibits local jurisdictions from enacting such a ban, and an even weaker law requiring handgun registration that was enacted by the San Francisco County Board of Supervisors in 1982 was thrown out by the California state supreme court.

Anyone involved in getting this law passed should be charged with criminal malfeasance.

How can they admit that the law they just passed is illegal under state law, and not be charged with doing something illegal?

How can they not be held accountable for wasting everyone's time, energy and money on something that is not viable??

Here, this schmuck is admitting that he knew that this law is destined to be struck down. By proposing it, supporting it, working for its passage, he is guilty of all I have said above. What he has done constitutes an abuse of power by a government official. If I were a party affected by the passage of this law, I would be suing him personally, and using these statements as evidence against him. Passing a law that he KNOWS is illegal -- how can he get away with that?!

Hope

If one city completely eradicates the right to keep and bear arms, the rest of the nation will be close behind. I sincerely hope this ban does not hold up in court.

Wouldn't you think they have alot of Pink Pistols members that would of passed the good word in SF. What are they going to do now?
