what are some of your favorite rifle, handgun same caliber combos?
How usefull do you all think a combo package would be if tshtf in a big city like nyc ?
I was born and raised inside of a mile of ground zero and was present when the plane's struck the wtc's ,I watched the whole thing go down and spent a good part of the following week on site helping in the rescue effort (hard to describe)
In a nutshell it made me think, I must be prepared for more of this crap .

thanks!
god bless america

I don't like any same caliber combo. Too much compromising involved with either the long gun or the hand gun....or both.

If I had to have both shootin same cartridge and load tho would opt for .44mag. Sometimes carry model 29 concealed and a lever action carbine in .44 mag not all that bad. For an urban situation might even keep em both stoked with .44specials loaded warmishly.

Glad you made it and sorry you have to live through all that first hand.

Sam

I too have the .44 Mag combo. Also have a .45 ACP combo-1911s and an AR with a .45 ACP upper. Not real fond of the upper but it does allow for commonality of ammo.

If size isn't an issue, that new .480 Ruger might do it for you.

I've got a feeling it's going the way of the .41AE though. Either that or it'll end up being a specialty item like the .445

For wheelgun cartridges, 357 Magnum or 44 Magnum are nice handgun/carbine combos. In semi-auto cartridges, 9x19mm, 40S&W, and 45ACP all come to mind. I would worry about too long of a barrel on 45ACP though. It could increase capacity, but may also slow the bullet a tad. For plinking, also think about 22LR. Just about every style (not nessecarily model) of rifle or handgun comes in 22LR. 22WMR shouldn't be overlooked either. Also, if you can find an affordable carbine in 7.62x25mm, one of them with a Tokarev pistol could be quite a butt kicking combo.

I like my 357SIG combo. HK USP-C and UZI model B carbine. No, the conversion work wasn't difficult. Yes, the 125gr bullets come out at 1700 to 1900 fps depending on brand. PLUS, I can always drop-in a pistol barrel for 40cal, and drop in a barrel/bolt for 9mm, 41AE, and 45acp/45Super. I've got the conversion for the 45acp, and will prolly switch over as soon as 450SMC is shipping from triton.

By the way, does anyone have contact info for that guy out west who converts UZI grip housings to use either greasegun mags or Thompson mags (not sure which)????

I chose 9mm. The ammo is cheap, for one. I have A Hi Power and a Hi Point Carbine. The Carbine makes me look good! I wouldn't depend on it stopping anything past 100 yards, but it would be a good urban warfare gun.

A Ruger PC4 carbine and Ruger P944 pistol-----both use the same ammo and use the same magazines. As long as you have loaded magazine you should have a gun to use it with. Or could go with a 9mm combo.
