ordered a pistol from Cabela's the other day, $217 for a Pietta 1860 Army, shipped. That's less than they go for used on Gunbroker! 1858's and 1851's are also on sale for about the same. I'm pretty excited.

now I either need to talk myself into or out of getting an 1858 too.

Shipping deal ends today at MIDNIGHT! 50 cents shipping for orders over $90 or something. Buy those heavy bulky items today.

As much as I like the low price on the 1858 (by today's gasoline price comparison  ), I have to remember that I once had an 1858 and never did like the grip on it.

Dang, it's almost like pregnancy with women. They forget the pain and want to have another! :D

The Doc is out now.

PS, though it was very accurate and were it not for the speed of reloading, I would have qualified Master with it on a Police Shooting Course!

Whu!?

Are you telling me that the Remington, which I think they are listing at 189.00 on sale now goes for 169.00 plus shipping?

In the immortal words of Gary Gilmore, "Lets do it."

To quote Peter Boyle, "Holy Crap!"

and finally with reverence toward Bos'n Francis Albert Street, "Wowsy Wow!"

My 51 was 189.00 and they had just took off the offer of free shipping but they gave a 20.00 rebate so it only cost me 186.00 shipped.

aww, i bought the 1858 too after free shipping ended but didn't notice the rebate. Oh well, still just over $400 for the '58 and '60, that's half what i paid for my engraved 1851's on gunbroker.

now that i am the proud owner of 4 blackpowder revolvers, i think i can safely consider myself a "collector." Now all that's left is a Walker, a dragoon or several, 1849 Pocket Colt, a LeMat, 1863 pocket Remington, Starr double and single actions, 1862 Police... :D

And it is funny what a day can do. Now I am rethinking that 1858. As I said before, I had one, but didn't like the grip.

Then I watched yesterday afternoon the OUTRAGEOUS SHOOTING DVD of Bob Munden's and found out I was holding my single-actions all wrong, trying to fit the pinkie finger up on the grip, as opposed to below it.

Wow, suddenly, my Remmie Navy .36 (same frame as the 1858) becomes comfortable.

I definately have some rethinking to do. :D
