Sako trg-22 vs Ai L96 ( aw )

Well here is my second post...I will supposedly take my
hunting license this summer and that gives me the right to
buy 7.62mm rifles in Norway
( you have to take the licence including practical, safety and moral aspects of owning a weapon,
to get a license for pistols/revolvers you have to be over 21 and
be a full time active member of a pistolclub, and you have to get
a letter/diploma from the club which state that your are sane
and responsible enough to own a gun....then you have to apply
at the chief of police of your town to actually get the license )
sorry about that but I just wanted to let you guys see what kind
of rules we have in Norway on this issue.

Anyway as the topic says I will likely go for the trg-22 or the Ai,
if I can get the Ai here...the trg-22 I can get for sure at $2700-2800, but I don`t remember if that was incl tax...
Have anyone of you got any of these rifles ?

This one will end up in 'The Art of the Rifle', but since I saw it:

Unless you have more money, I'd go with the TRG. If the prices in Norway (where I presume you are) are anything like what they are in the states, the extra cash asked for the AI makes it prohibitively expensive, at least for me. And I can't find anything justifying the difference.

My statements above are based on the differential between these two rifles in .338 Lapua Magnum, (TRG-42 vs. AI SM)however, and maybe AI has narrowed the gap in the 7.62's.

The TRG-42 here will run about $3500-$3800 (US) with all the goodies, while the AI Super Mag is $6300 (US) for the gun, and whatever comes with it. (The TRG-42 price is for the rifle, opti-lock scope mounts, muzzle brake, an extra mag, and a bipod and sling, and open sights, all extra).

Hope this helps.
