I recently purchased one of these from a fella at a great price because the wood had a crack in it. Real shame, beautiful rifle. I went to the Sako site to see if they had a replacement stock and did not see the Finnbear listed. I know I could probably order one from Boyds, but I'd really like to return this beauty to a Sako stock. Does anyone know who would sell older Sako stocks? And what would I expect to pay? Thanks.

Stocks for the old Sako Finnbear are basically impossible.
Best you could do is buy a whole trashed gun and use the stock but I don't know I have seen a trashed one for sale (Gunbroker is your best bet) .
Watch that EBAY one but EBAY stocks go for highest prices, no idea why.
Boyds as noted is an option, I don't know how good they are, the ones they make for Savage are great fits and I have only had to do a bit of tang area cleanup to get set right (I don't glass bed them and they shoot under 1/2 MOA with target barrels)

The crack is directly behind the trigger going up to the top of the stock. It goes all the way through. He or someone attempted to fix it and they did a pretty good job. And the rifle is shootable. And it is very accurate. It's one of those things that I know the crack is there, and I wish it wasn't. $900!!!!!!!!!! Wow!Midwest gun works. Check with euro optics. Midwest had 1 for my model 75 300 mag but wanted $900 for I told them to keep it. Look on ebay and gun America.
Will do. Yeah it shoots great. I'm in no rush. I think I'll hit up some gun shows in my bigger cities around me.I can tell you when it comes to sako parts and guns nothing is cheap. If you are able to shoot it be patient. I looked for my 300 stock for months and a unused original 1 was listed on ebay. I got it for $150.

In my opinion, Sako dominates the factory production rifle market in terms of quality. I'm sure German rifle manufacturers would rightfully disagree. Sauer manufacturers quality rifles. Anyway, this is my first exposure to a cracked Sako stock.

"...did not see the Finnbear listed..." Discontinued eons ago. However, $168.60USD will buy you a factory, walnut, Mannlicher stock from Gunparts. Plain, long action(all Finn bears are long actions.), stock with right hand roll-over cheek piece.
