Hi first time posting on the site hope to learn alot from those of you willing to give me advise, who on this site has had experience with Sako 85 series rifle and what can you tell me either good or bad as im considering buying one in .308 most likely a varmint or stainless steel varmint laminate.

These are very well built rifles. They are pricey, and I do not know that performance alone justifies the premium price over say a Savage, but the fit and finish is very good. If the price doesn't scare you no need to hesitate.

I have two Stainless Varmints in 22-250 and 243. These are as close to custom guns you can get,IMO. Get one and you won't be sorry.

In Australia Theres not that much difference in price from a sako to a savage with similar model features, A Sako varmint goes for around $1900 a savage with heavy barrel say the model 12 varmint is allmost just as expensive.

Depends what you are looking for. Savage's are always real accurate, especially as a predator rifle. It would be interesting to see if the Sako was as accurate as the Savage even though the Sako is a fine quality gun.
