I have fallen in love with these shotguns, just from what I've read about them, I've always wanted a Mag./ Drum fed semi-auto 12 + 20 ga Shotgun, I grew up hunting with y Father, and fell in love with - firearms early in life, and began a collection before i was able to buy my 1st car ! haha (I fully restored a 67' mustang--total cherry, I'm giving it to my 1st born son when he grad.'s in a couple years)--my father bought me my 1st--a .22 rifle that he tought me how to clean & Maint. + field safefty, a old 20 ga soon followed, and they still worked fine 20 years later !, I began exapnding my collection when i got my 1st Job, even when i went to Med. collage, even got some antiques (1873 wenchester lever action), one firearme I loved was a Palm 9mm Glock 26, was a wonderful self defense firearm. (one of my collage jobs was transporting bank pouches)
ANYWAYs, wierdly... I had to move, and along with a few other "High-End" items, my firearm collection "Fell off the moving truck !!"
to make matters worse, my business partner disapeared, myself & another person that had been @rewed out of nearly evey $$ we had we have a criminal warrent out for the guy-plus with 3 children and school year about to start, I'm a Man..I will take care of my family and get my income going again, but right now, my wife & 3 children all suddenly are very intersted in learning about firearm cleaning, Main., and safety, and wanting to go to the gun range ect. .. gotta love my luck.
Anyways, The Saiga not only has all the bells and wistles I always wanted in a shotgun, but the prices i've seen are low !! BUT I'm asking for anyone's from plain Info, to Used parts, old non-working firearm--that i can at least show my family how to Maint. & clean, or a used hangun or longgun thats old but fires to take the family to the range with the little ammo i could currently buy. Even just "Parts" so I can train my family to familarize with, ect. but of course the dream of a "Loaned" Saiga Mag., glock 26, AR-15 always flit into my mind, , please note that i am a man of my word, and ANY debted $$ willed be paid. Please PM me.
the "Info" be it pamplets or links ect. are also appreciated as I am sure I am not the only one that has been in this predictament, so yes please let us know. I got my SK for only $200 back about 12+ years ago, didnt shoot it much, but it seemed like a solid firearm.

For what it's worth, I also heard rave reviews of the Saiga ... and then heard that the shells deform if they're left in the clip. Hate to think I couldn't keep one loaded and ready ...

S-12's are great HD/SD shotguns.

You may want to try the Saiga Forum. You can find tons of links to dealers & conversion companies. There is also a large classified section there.

thanks, Handing down to my Children

Wow, I thats the 1st I've heard about the Seiga shells, thnx, yeah, the whole idea of getting one is the swifter loading of a "Loaded magazine/clip", i'd like to learn more about that.
AND thank you about the Link, I did not know there was a "Dedicated" community section on them.
Posting on the net has been around for a long time, and I must say, Firearm sites are the BEST, its only recently i've turned to them, as a chem. dep. Councilor & many hobbies beside my old ones about firearms every other type of forum I've posted on, it varies, but roughly about 1/3 replies are just rude, insulting "Trollers", but I havn't encountered a single one here.
--***I just want to hand down the knowledge & skills that my father & his before ect. handed down to me, my father & I even made our own ammo/"roll you're own?" on occation, THOSE tools did make the jouney as if to mock me, haha (we also made fishing sinkers, diving wieghts, BEER ect.)

I heard about the problems with keeping the mags loaded as well. But, I have not experienced any issues with mine. However, I don't keep "all" my mags charged all the time.

Your posts are a bit tough to follow, but for what it's worth I love my Saiga 12.

A few years back when there were very few being imported I located a used one out on the east coast and had it shipped over here. It's a very early import fixed-choke 18", and it's awesome. Runs great with everything I stuff into a mag and is hilarious to fire.

I leave all my mags loaded all the time, and have never had a problem with shells deforming. I hate loading mags, so I tend to do it after a range session when I clean my guns, and then not mess with them again until I shoot them empty at some point in the future. The springs in the AGP mags are really pretty wimpy, they don't put much pressure on the shells. I've left them loaded for a year at a time without problems.

agree, sorry, just want to pass skills to my Children wife

Again thanks,
I'm GLAD to hear that at least one guy has had loaded mags over a year and still shot them without any problems, I WELCOME posts about this issue of "Warped Shells".
Sorry about my posts, there are alot of issues I'm trying to express, and ussualy cant get to this until a long work day-- time with 3 children--wife time = very tired.

Short story, my lifetime & some family heilooms Firearm collection "Fell off a moving truck (was stolen at some point by the movers) along with some other high priced items, several of which were important to my wife & children at the time= used moving co. issuance money to rebuy these items (NOT my firearms), top things off, myself and two others invested $$ into a business, only to have one of the other two "Grab the money and run", we currently have a warrent out on him, but I've resinded myself to not seeing any of that money back and since I had to take out a loan to finish my "Obligation" every month I get a Navy Fed. bill every month to eventualy finish paying the loan.
Now my wife and growing kids are instedred in learning & having Firearms Cleaning, Maint., Safety, & information about indivual firearms vs. others. "the pro.s & con.s", what to know about what firearm we eventualy own, ect.

I've done what I can to instill -Safety- with broomhandles, then BB guns, even took toom them false "Hunting" hikes, and got them learning how to obtain good shooting with the limits of the BB guns.

But I lack the extra $$$ to buy a new proper Firearm, for the 1st time in my adult life, BUT I keep woking hard to pay my debts and provide for my family, and with a new school year just starting= new cloths, shoes, ect. for 3, doesnt sound like alot, but I can't believe how much just 4 13 year old girl's shirts costs !! Thank goodness the other two are Sons.

THIS thread is about learning about everything Seiga & even any firearms that a person wants to talk about. I've always loved my shotguns, but the talk of "StreetSweepers & RroomBrooms" really pulled my heartstrings.
A "Semi-Auto Shotgun" was something I always wanted to have.

ANYWAYS ... I've done all I can with Sticks, Toys (there is actualy some realy great ones out there, not nerf, but uses Nerf ammo-- that actualy works way better & cheaper) and BB guns. I was even taught how to make my own ammuntion, I REALLY WANT TO BEGIN MORE IN-DEPTH "HAND DOWN KNOWLEDGE" TO MY CHILDREN, so if there is ANYONE that has ANY CONDITION FIREARM OR JUST PARTS -- Upper / Lower receiver, Barrel, ect., please PM me, I'm willing to --Payment per Part-- ect.
Please PM me. I still have my tools.
thank you for you're time.

Saiga 12 shell deformation

The shells won't deform when loaded in the magazine. The top shell will deform if the magazine is kept installed. It is in contact with the carrier bolt. Keep the bolt open and the magazine inserts very quick.
