Saiga Kalishnikov .308 rifles

Anyone have experience with these? Are there any 20 or 30 round mags available? Or is this a new imported gun that meets the new BATF requirements of not accepting old mags? What else do you know about this rifle? It's under $500.00, so its the lowest priced .308 semi I can think of.

Will not take hi capacity mags and I don't think there are any available either (no 20rnd/30rnd .308 mags ever made). You might get a 7.62x39 version and have it altered to standard AK configuration. Then you'd have a true Kalashnikov from Ishmesh(sp?).

Don't know about the 308s but a dealer
told me that the 7.62x39s only come with
5 and 10 round mags.

He hinted that some mods might make AK mags
function in them. But since there are
no Ak 308s that I know of - that doesn't
solve your problem. The price of the
7.62 is pretty good.

Anybody ever see a 223 version?
