Saiga and Marocchi: What's there to know.

This is probably a hypothetical, but if push comes to shove, it might be manageable!!:D

I've been indulging in self torture again, by looking online at what is available.

I found a used Saiga 12 with 3 10-cartridge mags, and a 5-cartridge, used, for €350, or I've found a Marocchi Pump (either AGM Defence, or AGM Mariner), new, at @ €420.......

I've read that Saiga can be a good, solid, AK-based shotgun, with a fast fire rate, but with a short-straw attitude to QC, and less than practical sights. Still, though, a gun with a following. Marocchi, on the other hand, I now nothing about.

The Saiga is used (unknown age and shot count) and looks cool in a hooliganistic way; the Marocchi is new and looks cool in an understated way.....

The Saiga has sheds of capacity, the Marocchi probably about 6 cartridges tops.

Uses: range fun, perhaps some clays and HD if I needed something and that was readily available (way down the list, though).

Anything I should know?

The one Saiga I have experience with was absolutely reliable, ate everything I fed it and was a bad choice for trap.

That Mariocchi is unknown to me, but I have shot some of their O/Us. FWIW, good mid grade target guns....

I got a Saiga 12 it does suck for trap unless you get poly choke but great for skeet. Just becareful you will **** off skeet guys.

Done a bit of research. The Saiga has seen "200" shots according to the guy selling it. Who knows if that is true?

The Marocchi is a sexy looking number. Both Defender and Mariner models are the same, except that the Mariner has a chrome finish, to the Defender's black. They can carry 7 shots of 3" cartridges. They have a synthetic stock and additional pistol grip assembly!!

They sound good. Shame no one has tried them on here: perhaps more of a European brand following.

Saiga's been sold....:(

Did look like a good deal, and obviously someone else thought so too...

May have to have a look at the Marocchi after all!!
