Will Saiga .410 slugs in 2.75" fit and fire in a regular 3" chamber shotgun.? I am not interested in the length, I need to know about the diameter and pressure. Charlie
.410 is .410, no matter the look.
The defining factor in over the counter shotshells is length.
If you have a 3 inch chamber and want to use 2.5, or 2.75, inch shells, have at it.
The only exception I can think of would be slugs. If you have the wrong choke in the shotgun, slugs could be a bad idea.
A buddy of mine took his Saiga 410 to the range last week. He was shooting the 2 1/2, said he problems cycling. He switched to 3" and all was good. Good luck.
I want to thank all of you for your input. I have been in the firearms business over 36 years, and have always dealt with published info for any question I may have had. I did find the info I was looking for. And YES, you were all correct. But I found it written and commented on at AmmunitionToGo. It directed me to the specifics I needed. Here they are. For the Saiga .410 gauge it refered me to the 3" Slug 97gr Barnaul. It said, and I quote" These shells will fit any shotgun with a 3" chamber. " What kept throwing me was the metal case involved. Again thank all of you. Charlie
I talked to him via e-mail, he was trying to figure out what it was worth so I gave him a few links to get an average...not sure what he'll settle on. Found some for $46 for 100 at Ammo to Go. OOPS, just saw you checked there.
