Saiga 12

Just got a Saiga 12 today. In the package of the gun came a few things. There was a brush type thing and what looks to be a bunch of small tools. Also, a small plastic flask type thing was included as well. Can anyone tell me what those are and what they are used for?

Thanks.

The Russians always put little bunches of weird brushes and doodads in with their guns. Usually wrapped in funky wax paper and smelling like musty muskrats.

Set them aside as a curiosity and get some proper cleaning supplies. Or use them if you want to. The flask is for lube or solvent or vodka.:)

Came with a certificate packet and a manual packet. But, I read through it and it does not talk about the included tools/stuff.

LOL. Thanks Lahey. I do have proper cleaning stuff for my other 5 guns. I was expecting just the magazine to be wrapped up in that weird paper. Then, I get a weird brush, that looks like a cleaning brush, and a bunch of weird looking tools.

Thanks again. :)

Touche. :)

Oh, and when putting the piston back in after disassembling, does it matter which way it does in? Just watching a disassembly/assembly video and noticed that small detail.

The gas puck? No, doesn't matter.

Thanks Techno. I disassembled it and reassembled. Does the gas adjuster thingy usually wiggle a little bit when its on either 1 or 2? I forgot to check before I took it apart. Thanks.

It can wiggle. Don't sweat it- it's a Russian gun, some slop is expected. Since the standard valve only has two positions (and it takes a half turn to switch), a little wiggle won't hurt a thing.
