Me and my bro when to the gun shop today and my bro found something that he just had to have. The shop owner had a brand new Saiga-12 shotgun with a 22"-24" barrel(not quite sure which) for $299.99 and my bro has a few questions for y'all.

1-Is $299.99 a good price for a new Saiga-12 and if not where can he find them cheaper?

2-Where can he buy more mags for it and does any one make Hi-Cap mags (i.e.8-10rds) for it and where can he buy them?

3-Does any one make a folding stock for it and if they do where can he buy them?

4-What kind of accessories can he get for the Saiga-12?

5-Does any one here have any experience with the Saiga-12?

Thanks a lot for any info.
Michael.

Check out www.saiga12.com. Despite the old listings on their front page, thats a pretty good price. The saigas have been through a bit of an odyssey regarding importers, there's a new one but the prices are higher these days.

EDIT: Be sure to check out the forums.

Buy It Buy It Buy It

I still kick myself for not buying at least a couple of Saiga 12's when they were $250 each at CDNN... I'd snatch one up in a heartbeat if I saw a new one for $300 these days (esp. considering its down the street at your local gun shop and you don't have to wait for it to get shipped in)

Its just a shame how expensive and difficult it is to get magazines for those things....

... just my $.02

I own a Saiga. Awsome shotgun with pretty tight spread. Mine has a 22" barrel. I plan to get another with a 19" barrel. As to your questions: Yes 299.99 is a way good price right now. Yes they do make 8&10rnd mags, but they cost the world and that is if you can find 'em. Cheaper to get a good Machinist gun smith to make (maybe even a 20rnd drum) mags. 5rnd mags run about $35 each. I have yet to find a folding stock and/or pistol grip that will fit it with out modifications. But you can get a scope mount at a fairly decent price. A mount and good flex or internal laser dot non magnification scope make the Saiga 12 even sweeter. I love my Saiga. It is by far the best shotgun I have ever had the priviledge of using and owning. It never jams and will shoot any ammo you wanna put through it up to 3"mag.Even sabot slugs. The 3" (awsome)is the way to go with the Saiga. I have owned and used a lot too. examples being Springfield A1, Remington 870 and 1100, Browning, Bennelli, street sweeper(junk),Franchi spas-12(nice but only shots 2 3/4),..... and the list goes on. Go get it friend, you will not be disappointed.

Thanks for all info.

Sorry for not replying sooner I have not been home for a few days.

My bro has decided too buy it so we are going too go buy it tomorrow.

Again thanks for the info.
Michael.

I'm a distributor for the new importer. New ones are going for $405. For $299 jump on that sucker.

5 round mags are about $33. These are being imported again, so they are in stock.

8-10 round mags are scarce, and very expensive when you find them. There are three companies that are currently developing domestic 10 round mags. They are not on the market yet, and we don't really know what they are going to cost. I've got several hundred on order. No that isn't a typo. :p

You can convert them to take a pistol grip and folding stock, but to do so you need to make the gun 922 compliant and install US parts. If you are handy you can do this yourself. I use Tromix (Tony Rumore) for all my custom conversions. He charges $375 to install an ACE side folder, US trigger parts, reweld the old holes, polish the welds flat, and refinish the gun in black moly. He does the best custom AK work I've ever seen.
