I know they are popular, but this afternoon at the LGS was interesting to say the least.

A fellow slipped one down his loose fitting jeans and limped out of the store with it. He then had the temerity to return and ask for a magazine for the weapon.

Unbeknownst to him, the owner had observed the theft on a video monitor. When he came back into the store, one of the clerks distracted him with a "price check" on the mag while another went out and retrieved the rifle from the bad guy's car.

They then held him a gun point (nervously) for a couple of minutes and then the guy rabbited. He is still a fugitive as we speak, but he has been ID'd.

I walked in the store in the midst of this evolving drama, and it was over before I realized what was going on. Talk about dazed and confused.
 
And when/if they catch him he will get 3 months probation and a slap on the wrist. Ya, I think the courts are a joke !
 
Well, it was kind of like armed robbery, he did steal a gun..........

With NO magazine and they watched him put it in his car. When he returned to ask for a magazine, they knew he didn't have the gun on him because they distracted him so they could retreive it from his car...
 
I have that rifle, thats one heavy SOB. even empty it weighs in at almost 9 lbs.
lucky he didn't bring his own mag to the party, and walk back in and start blasting.
I'd say it was balls, but the stupid part was returning to the scene at all.
I'd venture to say it must have been a crowded set of baggy pants with his huge balls and the LR down there too.
