I am looking for a gun safe. I live in a APT upstairs. I want a small safe that could hold about 6 rifles and 5 or more handguns. Fireproof would be good. Any suggestions? Price ranges?
 
Hi Alaska man,

Try an outfit called Zanotti. They make modular safes in several sizes. The safes come disassembled and can be assembled where wanted; all the pieces are light enough for one strong man to carry (2 recommended).

They are not fireproof, though.

Smallest unit is 60"H x 25"W x 20"D, weighs 350 pounds. Comes in 3 separate boxes, assembles with pins. In 8 or 16 long gun configurations. If you want to fireproof it you either add 5/8" drywall to the interior or place it in a 5/8" drywall enclosure.

The nice thing is, no one will know you have a safe in your apartment, since you assemble it in place from the 3 boxes and disassemble it to move it. Can be bolted to the floor.

Expect to look at the price in the $800-$1000 range.

No other gun safe has this break down/easy assembly feature.
