I just purchased the Henry Big Boy in LC and would like to use my H110 powder with my 250 gr loads. Since the Henry is a brass receiver will I be able to achieve 1450 fps? Will my Ruger Blackhawk be able to take the rifle ammo?

145fps0 is no problem in the 20" barrel. Whether it's safe in the Blackhawk depends on the load.

Another consideration is whether the same load will be as efficient in the revolver as in the rifle.

Please explain a "1919 Army Colt?" And "7.5" barrel?"

Should be a M1917 Colt, in .45 ACP, with a 5 1/2" barrel? Or is yours a re-build?

I have a Colt New Service Target in .45 Colt, made in 1920, in very very good condition. It has always handled the traditional .45 Colt load of a 255 grain bullet at 950 FPS, but nowadays, out of deference to its age and my deep affection for this treasured heirloom, I only shoot "Cowboy" loads.

New Service guns (in good condition) are safe with any regular factory load, or reload made to a similar specification. I would never try shooting a Buffalo Bore or +P round. These revolver are much too valuable to risk.
