Safari Arms 45?

Neat looking gun....but don't know anything about them. I am looking at one, however. Anyone got experience with them? Do the parts interchange with most 1911 platforms? Quality or lack thereof?

They have an interesting history and I am pretty sure it is out on the web. I have one I bought years ago, a Matchmaster, and it is not a bad pistol.

Olympic Arms made them for awhile. That's their lion logo on the slide. They pretty much just make AR's now and the Whitney Wolverine .22 pistol.

I can remember where to put my fingers on my 1911s. These were popular because they looked "swoopy." Very much like all the beavertails and extended controls on modern 1911s.

I had 0ne of the original (Arizona made) 5" matchmasters. Best 45 I ever owned. And stupidly traded it.

Olympic Arms is just down the road from me, and they always had a major presence at the largest area gun show, with lots of .45 and AR parts.
At one time, they had the tooling for the left-handed 1911 that was originally made by . . . Falcon? Falcon Portsider? The only lefty Oly Arms pistol I've ever seen was on display every month at the show, but I don't know if they ever produced any for sale.
I have never seen an Oly Arms pistol on the range, and can't really remember seeing any on gun store shelves.

I believe they (olympic) bought safari, as well as randall...
Randall made some stainless left hand models in the mid 80's
