Sable Baby Hmless

Anyone have any info on this revolver? 6 shot, top break, auto-ejecting, 22 short, folding trigger, no trigger guard, off-white grips(ivory/bone???), hidden hammer similar to S&W Bodyguard. Made in Belgium. S/N 4XXX

Any idea when manufactured, in what quantity, was it a quality piece in it's day, etc...?

I have nothing on that specific name, but hundreds of thousands of similar revolvers were made in Belgium in the period roughly from 1910 to 1940. They were cheap ($2-4 here) and not especially well made or durable. Reliability was iffy, especially with .22 rimfire. Many were engraved and even had bone or ivory grips, but that did not make them any better.

They are interesting pieces, and worth keeping as knick knacks, but dollar value is low, usually well under $100. There is little real collector interest, they are (needless to say) not target pistols, and are too unreliable for defensive purposes even if the .22 Short were considered suitable for that purpose.
