SAA Ejector Tube Enigma

Shooting a while back the tube blew off leaving the nut and screw holding it still attached to the barrel. I ordered a new nut and screw thinking these were defective. The tube appeared to have no damage. However now the tube simply slips off over the screw which is tight. The tube, although flush against the barrel will not hold. I can't understand what is supposed to hold it there in the first place, tension? Logically a screw with a head would pin it on nicely. Is my tube damaged after all? Any help or ideas welcome.

Sounds like the screw hole on your ejectorhousing has become too large for the head of the screw or nut holding is. If so, this was probably caused by a little bit of play between them in the beginning and this play has increased with time (and use).
My guess would be to get a new housing and fasten it properly.

Good luck

It's an EAA Bounty Hunter .45 Color Case 4 1/2 inch barrel.

Yes, looks to be something like that, although I don't under the concept as the screw has no head. Oh well off for another part and more shipping charges! Thanks guys.

The screw has a head, it is just a very long head. There is (or should be) a shoulder inside that housing that the screw head bears against to keep the housing in place. That does the job of keeping the housing on; the rest of the head is mainly for appearance so it is flush with the outside of the housing rather than sitting in a hole.
