Sa 1911 Trp

SA TRP

I am a retired LEO. I have a early TRP that came without nightsights, ambi safety or mag well. It will shoot around one inch at 25 yards all day off of sand bags if I do my part. The only problem I have had was a front sight that became loose in the dove tail.

I removed the sight, stippled it on the bottom and put it back in the dovetail. It's nice and tight and no further problems.

I carry this gun daily and believe in it. It handles and shoots as well as my CQB and Clark Custom. The only thing I don't like is the squared dust cover as the gun will not fit some of my boned 1911 holsters. :D

I have a full-size (five inch barrel) ArmoyKote TRP. It has been flawless: very accurate, perfectly reliable, wonderfully durable, with exceptionally good fit and finish, highest quality manufacturing standards, and a consistent "crisp and light" trigger pull.

I simply could not ask for more. I suspect that for twice the price (or about $2200) a Wilson or Baer might be marginally better; however, I am unconditionally pleased with my Springfield TRP and would gladly compare it to any custom or semi-custom 1911A1 for "practical, everyday use".

PS: You may wish to check TFL's archives re this subject. There have been previous, directly applicable threads.
