S&W Titanium Snub: Short Report

I shot the 340PD again today, using ProLoad
125gr .357mag "Tactical Lite" ammunition. I shot 40 rounds, and estimate the muzzle velocity to be about 1050 fps - based on chrono results I've seen elsewhere. I could easily have shot 100 rounds.

Let me assure you this is a Very manageable round in the 340PD! At 30 feet, two handed, shooting pretty darn fast: 15 shots and 15 hits on a half-sheet of paper. Easily. And pretty tight on the paper. Shooting one-handed, 4 out of every 5 shots were hits.

Recoil is quite a bit stronger than a +P 158gr 38 Special, but NO BIG DEAL with this load. But I am using boot grips that cover the backstrap. Not the little Hogue Bantams that come with the gun.

Other good news with the ProLoad: the #5 bullets hardly pulled at all. adk

Love those lightweight Smiths.
I have a 337 which clocked 1220 with the CorBon 110 gr load and 1000 with cobons 125 gr load. My 337, fortunately, is pre-trigger lock. I love the 337 and cant imagine shooting anything more powerful than .38 special.
For a big step up in power, I have a Kahr P9 whch adds about 50% to 100% more energy, and is much more comfortable to shoot and deliver follow up shots.
