I have a K frame and the timing is getting slow.I need to lengthen the hand a little. Now the problem, books tell me to use a machinists hammer on the center 1/3 of the hand and peen to lengthen it.The hand will not lengthen. Its too hard and thick. Can anyone give me any ideas? Was thinking about heat but worried about getting the hand out of spec thicknes wise.Any help app.

S&W sells an oversize hand to correct this problem. The increase is in thickness not length. I had a M29 that would not carry up on 2 chambers. After installing the new hand I had to file the ratchets of the other 4 for smooth operation. I think Brownells sells an oversize hand.

Thanks
