S$W thwarted in Congress!

The Washington Post today reported, "The House voted [Thursday] to
bar the Defense Department from giving Smith & Wesson preferential
treatment in government contracts, part of a new effort to block the
Clinton administration from rewarding gun manufacturers that adopt
new [so-called] safety measures."
The House victory was huge, and anti-gun Democrats are fuming. But
gun owners should be thankful to Rep. John Hostettler (R-IN) who has
become a sort of "guided missile," seeking to destroy every vestige
of gun control that Bill Clinton has foisted recently upon thenation.
Let's let Rep. John Hostettler know how we feel about his service.

Done.

Thank him also for protecting the world's freedom. I'm a foreigner; but from a country that would have fallen without US protection. Forcing the military to use a particular manufacturer forces them to have second best. Then brave soldiers die. Okay, the particular brand of firearm may not change the outcome of a war but with a few hundred thousand fighting the slightest shortcoming in a weapon will cost hundreds of lives.

So thank Mr. Hostettler for that, too.

Battler.
