S&W Sigma SW40V (non ported)

Anyone out there own a S&W Sigma SW40V? I saw a mint condition used one today--everything's there--box, manual, two mags. The gun is black/stainless. Not a scratch...looks like it hasn't even been shot. The gun dealer said the previous owner was needing some quick money. Asking price was $300.

Any HONEST opinions would be appreciated. I own three Glocks (26, 22C, 36), and it looks as though S&W was attempting to make a Glock "clone" with this Sigma. However, the gun looks slickand feels like part of my hand. Actually, it feels better in my grip than any one of my Glocks. The trigger is a unique configuration, but it sure has a nice easy pull. THANKS.

Druggie? Um, well I have owned a sw40v preclinton for a while now and put 3000+ rounds through it. It is extremely accurate. My ccw qualifying target had in fifty rounds one hole about 4in across at 7 yds. It has had two fte's. One very early on and one at about rd 2200. I have had S&W replace two broken firing pins at no cost. The last time I sent it in they installed a different kind of spring cups I think to remedy what may have been an issue with other guns as well. All the people I know who actually own one of these is very happy with it. The only problem I've seen is the firing pin issue which has been addressed so you might want to send it in if you get it. A few aftermarket parts for g23's like recoil springs and rods will also fit the sw40v. I lke the stainless finish since you don't have to worry about wear or scratches. I can give you some things to do to the trigger that give you a great feel if you get it. $300 is too much for it though unless you get a hi cap included. Hicap mags for sw40v are 15rds and go for $65-75. I haven't found a round yet that won't feed.

I have two that I like quite well, both have thousands of rounds through them with out a hitch. The first Sigmas seem to have problems, but the v's seem to be good. I wanted to get one in .357sig but before I could buy one S&W made the deal with Klinton, so that shot that straight to hell. I will never buy a S&W again. All the ones I do have are pre agreement.:(
