April 8, 2014 Smith & Wesson announced it will be shipping Non-Microstamed, California- compliant M&P Shield semi-automatic pistols to California. This model was approved and added to the California Roster Of Handguns Certified For Sale prior to the Microstamping requirement, i.e. Grandfathered in. Ca. versions will be available in 9X19 and .40 S&W. They will have a loaded chamber indicator, a single sided thumb safety and a magazine/trigger disconnect. MSRP $469.00
