Hey here's an interesting report. Supposedly S&W asked the NRA,GOA, JFPO and others for help but were told to settle. If this is true it does not bode well for us. I've enclosed a link to one of these reports. The so called Newshawk News Service
is a bit loopy, but the radio talk show host mentioned as interviewing S&W I have heard of before. He's a conservative/libertarian type. I've emailed the big 3 or 4 gun rights groups with this and I'm awaiting answers. What do you think?http://www.sightings.com/politics6/wesson.htm

I think it's bogus, since everyone seemed surprised when S&W did the sellout own its own.

I'm not saying that it's true but it just doesn't make sense for the country's largest gun maker to enter into an insane agreement, lose a majority of their sales in the process and get very little in return since a number of cities are still going ahead and sueing S&W anyway. There's something fishy about this whole thing that just doesn't smell right.
quote:
Originally posted by sigpro: The NRA collected tons of money. The leaders in the NRA receive six figures incomes and live in styles. I wonder what did they do for the gun ownners in California on the assault weapon ban. I'm not surprise that they wouldn't lift a finger to help out S&W 'cause it's going to cost more money. Well, the truth is money 'rule.'[/quote]

Part of a GOA Alert...

INTERNET NOTE: A completely false rumor is currently circulating on
the Internet. Supposedly, a talk radio host was in contact with
executives at Smith and Wesson, and was told the manufacturer
contacted GOA to ask for help in defending against the lawsuits.
The rumor goes on to make the ludicrous charge that GOA advised S&W
to cut a deal with the feds! Just for the record, Smith and Wesson
has not contacted GOA. Nor would we ever suggest that anyone cut
deals with Bill Clinton -- compromise and capitulation are losing
strategies. The legal arm of GOA, Gun Owners Foundation, is
prepared to aid to the best of its ability those manufacturers who
stand firm and fight from a no-compromise position.
