S&W P.C. model 13 ?

I recently came across a NIB 9 year old S&W Performance Center 13. It's quad ported, DAO, bobbed hammer, with nice wood and a slick trigger. Any idea what it's worth. I need it like I need, well, another revolver  I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on this one. It's had the same price for 9 years. It seemed high then but not so bad now. I can get it for 599.00. What you think? I can buy used 13's and 65's all day around here for between 250.00-300.00. But it is cool.

There are only something like 400 of these guns in existance. I love mine. Shoots well, totes well, hits hard. They usually trade on the north side of $600, so $599 is a reasonable price.

Thanks for the info. I guess I'll go buy myself a Chrismas present. How about the same thing, same age, in some form of Centennial? Non +P, ported, blued, nice wood? Same price.

Sounds like it might be a PC460. Never seen one in person. 450 produced. Six bills? I'd pay it...

Once again, thanks. One S.S. 92 compact going, and about 600.00 from the super secret (at least I think she does'nt know about it) squirrel fund.

I would buy it too. Is the porting a Performance Center configuration, or a pot-production modification?

No, they are both NIB. I just called and said I'd be by in the morning to pick up the 13. I'll probably sell something else and get the Centenniall. BTW, it is a PC460. I might sell my 360Sc. That little beast is the hardest kicking pistol I've ever had the pleasure of launching bullets from. I had it Magna-Ported it kicked so hard. It's worse the the 50 IMHO.

I found my PC 13 (bobbed, ported, super DAO trigger) about 6 month ago. I could not resist getting into the cookie fund either. It has turned out to be a really great gun and very accurate. Mine likes the 38+P with 125gr HP that Federal loads best of all. But I have yet to find anything it won't shoot well out to at least 25 yards. It handles 357mags just fine and the porting takes good care of the recoil... but I try to avoid these since I have read all the talk about the thin area on M-13 forcing cone cracking. Mine is still solid, and I want to make sure she stays that way.

Discussion on the origins of mine.

Tamara, thanks for the pic!

Tamara, thanks for the link on yours, there was good information on the origins of my new S&W. Mine appears exactly like yours, so is also part of the 2nd run. I wish I could go shoot it now but it's currently snowing. It won't take me long to get out, with living in the country and all. I was afraid it would come with one of the old boxes. You know, the cheesiest of all S&W boxes, the blue plastic one, and it did. I guess I am spoiled by the Chinese aluminum ones that the 386's and 646's came in. This most recent S&W revolver bug is wiping out my rat hole fund! :D I think I'll have to fanagle a way to get that PC640 . But then there was a nice nickel 27-2 4 inch for 330.00 as well. Oh well, decisions, decisions.
