My buddy just picked up the above rifle in 30-06 cal. The rifle is in excellent condition but he knows next to nothing about it. What do you know about this rifle that I can pass on to him. I'd appreciate any info. you can provide. Thanks, Michael

Mine was a Swedish Husqvarna, built on an improved Small Ring Mauser 98 pattern, prior to production being switched to Howa (Japan).

S&W marketed four different configs in the 1970's, some lightweights, some schnobble-tipped forestocks, some w/monte carlo buttstocks, long or short bbl, etc - as their Model A, Model B, Model C, & Model D.

What can I say - The Mauser 98 system is the base from which most other modern boltguns evolved from, and The Husky workmanship was second to no one.
