S&W Model 65 Part II

I recently purchased a S&W M65-7 4" barrel for $ 285.00 used. However, I see very few advertised for sale either locally or on the internet. I don't see them in the gunshops either. Are people holding on to them because they are such a decent all purpose revolver or is there just no demand for them and that's why I don't see them. I'm very happy with mine and just wonder what the general consensus is in the field on this. Thanks.

I tend to think it is because people are hanging on to them. I too have seen very few of them on the used market.

I have two model 65's.
One three inch (I love dearly) and a S.C.H.P. sell back. The SCHP South Carolina Highway Patrol gun, I bought unused when S.C. gave the revolvers back to S&W for auto's.
I will NOT part with either one. I have Pythons, 686's Dick Special, and other.
I like them all, but the model 65 are just so neat because they are so simple.

One: I don't think they make a lot of them. They are the bottom line revolver.

Two: Those that have them, like myself, will not part with them.

So to answer your question, it is a two part answer.
