One of my gun club members just bought one.
He shot some reloads.....125 gr. Remington jacketed HP bullet with 5.7 Gr. Unique.....he shot five rounds. The revolver lock-up !!
He said he could not pull the hammer back to shoot single action ( dry fire), but could shoot pulling the trigger at double action, for about 4-5 times before it locked up again.
Anyone out there can help figure this one out?
 
Yep, I had a 637 two years ago, new, did the same thing. Called S&W and got a FeDEX shipping label faxed immediately. They replaced the hand, trigger and cylinder and I had the gun back in 10 days, IIRC. They also did a first rate trigger job on it. It's my wife's carry piece and has been absolutely 100% since. Great customer service at S&W.

A loose ejector rod should not be a problem in a new gun...but cha never know, never hurts to check. I just checked my wife's and it's impossible to move it.
