S&W Model 60, Loose Sights

We have a 60 with a 3 inch barrel. The rear sight assembly is constantly coming loose. It is the screw that holds the sights to the frame.
I was told that "blue lok-tight" would fix the problem. Is this correct or any other suggestions.

Thanks

Blue Loctite will work perfectly. Degrease the screw and the screw hole, put the screw back into the sight assembly and put the Loctite on the screw threads. Don't use too much or it might run into places where you don't want it.

A good way to apply Loctite to very small screws is to use a paper match. Apply a drop of Loctite to the paper end, and wait a moment. Then, after the Loctite has been absorbed into the match a little, use the match to 'paint' the screw threads... makes it easy to put on a small amount, which is all you need.

Thanks for the advise. I had thought about using a tooth pick and dab it on the threads, but the paper match sounds better.

Thanks again
