After extensive searching I found a model 60-7 locally for sale. Trouble is he wants $535 for it. It comes with a holster and spare grips that are useless to me that he will not separate from the gun. I think the price is a little steep. I'd appreciate some opinions of what y'all think it's really worth

Sometimes, some people think not having a paper trail is worth some value...;)

Condition?

Can you sell off the spare grips and holster for a little relief to help assuage the price? Otherwise, for a Chiefs Special, a tad high IMO. On the other hand, no lock and .38 spl vs lock and .357 for newer 60s is also worth something to some people.

Can or will he throw in something to boot?

Unless you are one of those no paper trail kind of guys.

As it belongs to that gent, and he's definitely not letting it go for a penny less, it's absolutely worth $535 to him. You can prove me 100% correct by offering him $534 and him saying "no thanks." Also hard to blame him for not wanting to separate the extra stocks and holster as those will often be even harder for him to sell without the revolver and most definitely be more hassle for him to sell as he'd have to move three items to at least 2, maybe 3 different people.

You're in luck... Smith & Wesson has made a zillion Model 60 revolvers, so keep looking. I wouldn't say his price is a steal, but it's not an "out of line" price for what he's offering.

You could always sell the extra stocks and holster to defray the 535 you had to come up with to get it. If you do that, you kind of "split the difference" with the seller because your "cost" drops but you get the hassle of moving the holster & stocks.

Trouble is if I were to try to sell the grips and holster I just don't think they are worth the money. The extra grips anew the junky hogue 3 finger grips that can be found everywhere for a few dollars. The holster is a galco ankle holster which also have little resale value as the wear out fairly quickly.

Sounds like I should just let this one go by. As hard as that is to say
