S&W Model 57 Question

I just traded for a S&W Model 57 (Nickel Finish). Has a little wear on outside of trigger guard. Anyone have an idea of the approximate value of this revolver?
Thank you

There are several 4" nickeled 57's on Gunbroker running between a grand and $1500 plus. Doesn't appear to be a lot of "action" on any of 'em though. Reserves not met a lot.

Which one? Model 57 or Model 57-1 or -2 or -3 or ? The 57 with a pinned barrel and recessed chambers brings top dollar and money drops as engineering changes mount.

When made? Before 1967 will have the "Coke" style target stocks (shared with the Model 29) and these greatly increase value. Later guns have regular stocks like other models.

Barrel length? Shorter is more popular and commands more money in the used market.

Condition? Your very brief description isn't enough to allow a proper evaluation.

Even when all the variables are known estimating value is really just a guess. Prices can vary wildly based on location and other factors.

A pre-1967 4" M57 with original Cokes in near perfect shape might bring $1,500 or more with ease. An 8" 57-2 in 70% condition might fetch $400. Most will fall somewhere in the middle.

M57 with a 4" barrel...very good so far. If it has a letter S serial prefix and Coke stocks that's the big winner.

Looks like a "N" prefix. Searching online the stocks look like the ones they call "target stocks." They don't look like the coke stocks. Less room between the checkering and the bottom of the grip.
