Model 34-1 Kit Gun (Mfg. 1957)

Hello all. Just figured out the latest Photobucket program and can again share some of my gun shop finds.

Just found this nice model 34-1 yesterday at a great price. Had a set of S&W target grips on it so I installed some old "J" frame grips (new ones are on their way from Midway).

Model 37 "Air weight 3" barrel (Mfg. 1980)

Found this gun in an almost new condition in a gun shop in Cape Coral, Florida. Had a set of Pachmayr grips so I installed these ":allegedly custom S&W grips/sort of laminated look to them".

Some of my friends have been beating down my door to buy this from me. (Told them I would trade for a pristine Walther German .32 PPK although I think there are a lot more Walther's around than Model 37's in this condition.)

I had wanted a m34 snub for years. Never bought one because I didn't know if
it had practical accuracy. Well I was half right, I picked up a nice used older flat
latch model. I couldn't shoot it for crap. Put it on a rest and it shot as well as my
4" 34. I could do okay at 15', after that I stunk.

I just picked up a nice 31, 3" Nickle with cheap plastic faux stag grips. It shoots
good with cast Wadcutters the only 32 I had loaded up. I'm on hunt for some
J wood grips for it. Those hollow plastic grips are like a megaphone when you
cock it.

Correct year of mfg. Of the 34-1

Just discovered that my 34-1 was made in 1967 not 1957. The lady I talked to at S&W yesterday probably said 1967 and I thought I heard 1957.

Thanks to one of the really knowledgeable contributors on the Smith and Wesson forum that helped me correct this.
