S&w MODEL 27 question

Hello.

I'm thinking about picking up a S&W model 27 (no dash #) from my dealer. I'd say it's in about 85-90% condition with slight holster wear on the muzzle and a .25" scratch on the backstrap. Cylinder has just a little bit of endshake and play in it, but otherwise the gun looks very good.

My dealer is willing to let it go for $270.00 out the door and since I traded my minty 19-2 for a Colt Commander XS I find myself without a revolver.

I'm not really into wheelguns, but it just seems Un-American :D not to have a .357.

In any case do you all think that's a fair price?

Thanks.

And yet again, I agree with C. R. - - -

Offer $250 out the door.

If the gun's in good shape, and the dealer's stuck on 270, I would NOT walk out the door without the gun. If it were me, that is . . . .

But then, I love the 27s--all lengths and colors.

Good luck to you.
Johnny

Be very sure to check for flame cutting on the top strap of a used mod 27. It will appear as pits or a line burned into the top strap just behind the forcing cone.

SIZE DOESN'T MATTER

It's how it shoots...............

C. R. SAM and others, thanks. BTW, barrel length is 6 inches. I wish it was 3.5inches, but since I really don't carry revolvers, this will be a range/hunting gun.

3½ and 5 inchers bring a little premium.

6" N frame speaks with authority, even if not shot.

Sam.....tis the craftsman, not the tool
