1)Thanks for your compliment on the gun!

2)I'm surprised that after 190 views there was just one comment on the gun? I thought maybe it was my pictures not being good enough-or, maybe folks just don't have much interest in .38 Special revolvers? I only wanted to share this pristine 15-1 with the members so they could enjoy viewing such an unusually fine specimen. I had always desired to own a model 15 but, I was willing to wait whatever time necessary to enable finding a mint one-and, it took me a long 10 years to discover this one!:(

Oh my that's nice...

"I'm surprised that after 190 views there was just one comment on the gun?"

Now, now, don't get too bent out of shape. It's hard for people to comment when they're trying to suppress their jealous rage. :D

Very nice, I just sold off a 4 screw pre-model numbered Combat masterpiece. Beautiful guns and the action was as smooth as glass.

Now why did you have to show that off??? Now I need to add another gun to my want list!
Beautiful, truly beautiful sir.

Oh no, I didn't mean to imply that I was "bent out of shape" as I was just very surprised regarding not receiving more than one "positive" response out of 190 views? Of course, I was eager to see what the members were gonna say about this M15-1(Pro or Con);)

That is truly a masterpiece of American craftsmanship. I have read that in the old days to become a polisher at S&W you had to apprentice for 5 years before you were allowed to polish a frame. You had to make your own felt wheels for all the different radii.. Quality rated much higher than daily production quota. Take good care of that treasure.

drail:

You are exactly right in your synopsis above-and the quality of the metal polishing and, of course, the bluing really shows this in the older S&W revolvers.

I have a good 2 or 3 S&Ws in my collection and I only have one -1. For N and most K frames, -1 guns are hard to find. Nice gun.

The -1s being hard to find is true only the ones that were around before the model designation. Guns like a 66-1, which was not around before 1957, the rarity may not be true.

My lack of comment was due to the stupification and odd mono-syllabic sounds eminating from my mouth.

Nice piece. Those old blue S&W boxes were the best.

Very nice piece. I bought it's used relation last year. Shoot it often. Very accurate and great trigger. I have the -1,-2,-3 & nickel -4. I shoot them all on a regular basis. I also bought a 14-3, TT,TH,TG SA only. Also a great shooter. I have really been shooting .38 Special a lot, both 158 gr swc and 125 gr rn from a local caster. Loaded light they are just a bit more than a .22 mag for recoil.

Absolutely beautiful! I have a Model 15 that's a bit more used. It's one of my favorite revolvers to shoot - a true classic.

Lovely handgun,,,

Many people say I'm a bit deluded:

But I consider the Combat Masterpiece,,,
To be the finest S&W revolver ever made.

I really don't have any scientific basis for this opinion,,,
It's just that of all my revolvers I smile biggest when I hold that gun.

And I hit fairly well with it as well. :)

Nice buy my friend,,,
That's one gun you will not regret buying.

I wish more old Smith and Wessons showed up in my neck of the woods. They are the classiest looking revolvers of all time bar none. IMO.
