I just purchased a Mod. 6904. It is very clean and appears not to have
been shot very much. However, it has a very annoying aspect, which I
don't know if it is a normal characteristic of this gun or if it is a flaw that
the factory could correct. The trigger feels perfectly normal in the double
action mode. But in the cocked mode with the trigger forward, there is
resistance on the trigger which requires a slight pull. The trigger then
disengages from the resistance (I can hear a light click) and actually is
dangling free. If I continue to pull the trigger, it feels perfectly normal
until it reaches the point where I encounter the resistance of the hammer
letoff. The trigger pull of the letoff is fairly heavy. I am not really that
concerned about the heavy letoff (firing), but the initial resistance is very
aggravating. I removed the slide and viewed the trigger area. I could see
that the part activated by the trigger would actually rise slightly and the
trigger spring would move upward slightly at the same time as I pulled the
trigger to overcome the initial resistance. I wonder if anyone else owns a
Mod. 6904 and if your gun has the same oddity. I did not receive a manual
so I am unable to properly identify the internal parts in my post. Also, I
am interested in any comments concerning the quality and reputation of
the Mod. 6904. Thank you in advance for your help.
