S & W Mod 27 FBI commemorative value?

I have a friend who is looking at a FBI 50 yr commemorative model 27 Smith & Wesson in Wooden commemorative box. Any idea on the value? Thanks in advance.
 
Make sure it isn't stolen. About 10 yrs ago a neighbor came up with one and wanted me to price it for him. It was stolen out of Little Rock. Had belonged to an agent down there.
 
Check GunsAmerica and Blue Book.
I see comm. rev. for $550-650 in my area.
Beware, as above; saw it happen on a state patrol gun.
 
Maybe the 500-650 range depending on area possibly more, really dependant on area though.



had a chance to buy one that was absolutely 100% new in box unopened here in Ca. about 8 months back for 550 dollars, Ca. is a pretty starved little state for older N-frames thanks to their stupid handgun safety approval law.


With the situation in Ca., those guns could probably fetch a slightly higher price than in some of the other more "free" states where deals on N-frame guns seem to be pretty common.
