I purchased one. I'll try and keep it concise, like one of the sidebars in Car & Driver:


Highs: Impeccable timing, rock-solid lockup, and it's an N-frame M&P.
Lows: Gaudy billboard, goofy lawyer zit, and typical factory Smith trigger.
The Verdict: For those looking for a big-bore fixed-sight carry gun, your ship just came in.

Is a replacement sideplate easily obtainable from S&W?

If one of the lows is "typical factory Smith trigger", then evidently they've went down hill over the last few years. I haven't purchased a new S&W since they started the safety locks or the new firing pin location, but I never had any problems with the older S&W triggers.
