S & W frontier double 44

I have recently acquired this gun and I have some questions about its value and history. I have no doubt that it is a frontier double in 44-40 with minimal bluing left on the gun it is fully functional and is stamped on cylinder and bottom of handle with the number 1924. Is this the serial number and when does that date it. Any guesses at the value or rarity of this gun would be greatly appreciated. ..
Thanks

Rick

A full description of all markings and their location would certainly be of help, plus a couple of good detailed photos. And grip description, how is it marked, etc.

This was one of the favorite revolvers for Belgian gunmakers to copy, and some were very close to the S&W revolvers so close inspection is required.

The gun has black rubber grips with the intertwined s&w logo... the 1924 is stamped into the bottom of the handle and again on the cylinder on the outer portion above the ejector. I will post pics tonight. Thanks again for your help... and especially your patience as I am new to the world of antique firearms and the many variables that present themselves. Also it has the patents listed on top ending with the last one being in 1880 further descriptions I will post tonight.
