I think that Brownell's offers a front sight kit to replace the inserts. The kit I had and had used on several M-66's came with different colored "plastic" powders and a solvent/hardener. The old insert was broken out, the plastic powder you wanted was mixed with the correct amount of solvent and hardener and then it was filled into the space where the old insert was. http://www.brownells.com

Kv4v, I use the same kit Jim refered to but I cut a dovetail in the front sight. This both removes the old insert and gives the new stuff something to hold onto. George
