S&W Front sight?

First time post. Glad to be here. I was wanting to replace my front sight red insert ramp on my S&W 686 with a gold dot patridge style but I don't know what height to get. Do I go with a .250 or .300 and where's the best place to get one besides S&W web page. What height is closer to the stock ramp sight? Thank you.
 
I would suggest that you measure what you have and look for the same height. You can make up minor differences by raising and lowering the rear sight.
