S&W Folding

I expect it's a Toimpkins business decision. I Also saw a thread this morning where, Ruger, Remington, Springfield Armory and Colt all have offers on the table for S&W.

It could be that Tompkins, in order to sweeten the deal has sold the parcel to lower the debt and make S&W more attractive to the buyers. Regardless, Tompkins PLC is looking to unload S&W and will probably to so at a big loss.

It could actually speed up the deal where S&W would be under American ownership.. Then if they can get Bush to nullify the dredded agreement...........

Please don't get my hopes up like this if it isn't true. Do you know how excited I would be if Remington (American through and through) decided to purchase Smith and Wesson. (Wow, that's the first time I haven't typed *&* in a long time)

Tomkins may also be liquidating to build a reserve of cash, thus sweetening the deal for a potential buyer, and increasing their ability to fight off a hostile takeover.

Just a thought.
