S&W DA revolvers; "lawyer locks"...

Howdy;
Any forum members here know if recent Smith and Wesson DA revolvers(NIB) come w/o the security lock(s)?

I was never a big fan of these dumb changes. :(
I'd read about 12mo ago, S&W would start selling carry size wheelguns like the J frame 442 & 642 line w/o the locking systems.

PM me if you wish.

Thanks,

Some do. As you noted, they're the J frame models, usually the hammerless 442/642.

Most of the product line does still have the internal lock.

As far as I know, only Centennial models (fully enclosed hammer DAO) are currently available without locks. If you want a DA/SA S&W without the ILS, you'll have to either find a pre-2001 specimen or buy an ILS-equipped model and remove the feature (it's not particularly difficult and there are several online tutorials).

Last I heard from different folks at the factory, only some of the internal hammer (Centennial) model revolvers will continue to be offered without the ILS.

The exposed hammer models will continue to be produced with the ILS.
